I need sun and heat!!! In these past days the sun has been very shy. It doesn’t rain but the mornings are humid and the sun only shows up at about 10 am, not very convinced of its need… It’s not enough to dry completely the grapes and avoid rot.
Yesterday after work, I visited the vineyard to check on the “health” of the grapes and I spotted some gray rot in the Tinta Roriz. I was in suspense to see what this weather would do and I’m a little disappointed with the results, which may force me to harvest this next weekend… I was planning to harvest on the 27th September. The Touriga Nacional is fine.
The weather forecast announces rain on Sunday so I’m not sure if I’ll wait to see what happens after or harvest next Saturday (Hoje = today; Domingo = Sunday):
